Montreal Pop-R&B singer-songwriter Maryze has released her billingual EP Like Moons. You might remember Maryze from our interview with her back in November of 2018, or from her Monthly Mix for us!

The EP is an honest and haunting reflection on intimacy and the impact of mental health in relationships. From sultry, soulful love ballads to battles with anxiety and shame, the songs navigate the fear and bliss of vulnerability, ending on the sexually-empowered self-love anthem Special.

The release follows her empowering new single Men Like You confronting sexism and gender-based abuse in the music industry. CBC/Radio-Canada praised the track, saying: "The lyrics of Men Like You are so powerful, and they can touch a wide audience. This song should be translated into all languages...it hits you hard."

Drawing influences from early 2000s R&B and modern electronic pop, Maryze’s 2018 debut single B.O.Y. climbed Spotify charts, holding a spot on the Viral 50 Canada chart in its first week. In 2017, the young artist won sixth place in TFO’s national talent search for bilingual singer-songwriters with her stand-out French track Dis-Moi, now released for the first time on Like Moons.
