This month’s playlist “Thawed Out” has been curated by singer songwriter Artemis, inspired by the changing of the seasons, and coming back to life after a long winter.
Artemis is a singer/songwriter from Vancouver, BC, currently based out of Montreal. Influenced by artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, Erykah Badu, and Amy Winehouse, Artemis incorporates elements of contemporary R&B, soul, and electro-funk to create smooth bops.
Although singing and writing have always been a part of her life, she began releasing work under her name “Artemis” this past year. Her latest single, Hot Sand was accompanied by a sunny, colourful video that was directed, edited, and choreographed by Artemis and featuring underwear by PANSY. Artemis is currently playing shows with her band in Montreal and working on new music.
